This was a piece I wrote for a dance, with the same title, that was choreographed (and performed) by Heather Lamoureux and Lindsey White in the "Endosymbionts" Dance Show (SFU Woodward's, Vancouver BC).

I used guitars, string pads, voice and electroacoustics. Heather and Lindsey wanted to incorporate bird sounds, but I didn't want to make it so, well, "cheesy". The movements aren't that literal anyway, but I thought that there shouldn't be too many bird sounds happening at once. Also, this was the first time I really used stereo to give character to the piece. In the introduction, Heather is stage left (first guitar), and Lindsey is stage right (distorted). I forgot that theatre speakers are backwards, so I had to go back and switch the left and right to fit in with the overhead speakers. I don't think anyone really noticed anyway...
